About This Role
IntelliS Global has been retained by multiple clients in the offshore energy sector to source experienced Marine Superintendents to support vessel operations, ship management, and marine assurance activities across Singapore and Malaysia. These roles offer outstanding variety — working across different vessel classes including PSVs, AHTS vessels, offshore construction barges, and potentially FPSO marine systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide marine technical expertise and oversight for offshore support vessel operations (AHTS, PSV, CSV, and/or construction vessels)
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and flag state / port state regulations
- Manage vessel pre-mobilisation checks, dry-dock planning, and class renewal survey coordination
- Oversee dynamic positioning (DP) system operations and DP capability assessments
- Conduct anchor handling trajectory planning and mooring analysis for offshore operations
- Manage marine crew competency, training, and STCW certification compliance
- Liaise with charterers, vessel owners, and regulatory bodies (MPA Singapore, Marine Department Malaysia) for marine assurance
- Investigate marine incidents and near-misses; implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support tendering and technical evaluation of vessel charter proposals
Core Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of marine operations experience in offshore or maritime industry
- Chief Engineer or Master Mariner certificate (Class 1 preferred) with relevant sea time
- In-depth knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and international maritime regulations
- Hands-on experience with DP Class 2 or DP Class 3 vessel operations and maintenance
- Familiarity with anchor handling procedures, mooring analysis, and towage operations
- BOSIET/HUET certification preferred for offshore rotation roles
- Strong communication skills with ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships
- Experience working with classification societies (DNV, ABS, Lloyd's) for vessel certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting offshore construction vessel or subsea installation operations
- Knowledge of FPSO marine systems including turret mooring and offloading
- Background in marine assurance and SMS (Safety Management System) auditing
- Familiarity with Singapore MPA and Malaysia Marine Department regulatory frameworks
- Experience with offshore renewables vessel operations (wind farm support)
