Subsea Control Systems Engineer

About This Role

Join our team as a Subsea Control Systems Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, where you will be responsible for the design and engineering of subsea control systems including Subsea Control Modules (SCM), umbilicals, EPU, and topside control interfaces for deepwater developments.

This role involves close collaboration with subsea hardware vendors, instrumentation specialists, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge subsea processing and boosting projects with global reach.

Key Responsibilities

• Design subsea control systems including SCM architecture and functionality
• Develop umbilical design specifications and cross-section layouts
• Specify and interface with Electro-Hydraulic Umbilical (EHU) suppliers
• Coordinate EPU (Electrical Power Unit) and HPU (Hydraulic Power Unit) design
• Define communication protocols and control system requirements
• Perform reliability and availability analysis for control systems
• Support FAT, SIT, and offshore commissioning activities
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and design documentation

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Control Engineering
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in subsea control systems engineering
• Knowledge of subsea control architecture (direct hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, multiplexed)
• Familiarity with API 17F, API 17E, and ISO 13628 standards
• Experience with subsea communication protocols and data networks
• Understanding of subsea instrumentation and sensors integration
• Knowledge of topside control system interfaces and integration points
• Experience with subsea hardware vendors and supplier coordination
