Subsea Flowline Engineer

About This Role

We are seeking a Subsea Flowline Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur team. You will be responsible for the design and engineering of subsea flowlines, rigid jumpers, and associated systems for deepwater oil and gas field developments.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will execute flowline engineering activities from concept through detailed design and installation support. This role offers exposure to diverse flowline configurations including rigid pipe, rigid spool pieces, and manifold jumpers for various water depths.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform flowline mechanical design and wall thickness calculation
• Execute expansion analysis and mitigation strategy development
• Conduct free span and upheaval buckling assessments
• Design rigid jumpers for subsea manifold and PLET connections
• Perform stress analysis using SACS and dedicated flowline tools
• Interface with installation contractors on S-lay and J-lay methods
• Prepare flowline specifications, design reports, and as-built documentation
• Coordinate with materials and corrosion engineering teams

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in subsea flowline engineering
• Proficiency with DNV-OS-F101, ASME B31.8, and API 5L standards
• Experience with flowline stress analysis tools (SACS, PipeLay, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of expansion analysis, free span, and buckling mitigation
• Familiarity with rigid jumper design and fabrication requirements
• Understanding of pipeline installation methods and constraints
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
