Subsea Pipeline Engineer

About This Role

Join our team in Kuala Lumpur as a Subsea Pipeline Engineer, where you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and engineering of submarine pipelines for deepwater oil and gas developments. Your expertise will contribute to safe, efficient, and cost-effective pipeline solutions that meet international standards.

Working alongside multidisciplinary project teams, you will execute pipeline engineering from early concept through detailed design and installation support. This role offers exposure to diverse pipeline projects across Asia-Pacific and beyond, with opportunities for technical growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline mechanical design including wall thickness calculation and material selection
• Execute stress analysis using industry-standard software (SACS, Caesar II)
• Conduct S-lay and J-lay installation analysis and methodology support
• Perform buckle, upheaval buckling, and free span assessments
• Prepare pipeline specifications, data books, and design reports
• Interface with offshore installation contractors on method statements
• Support AUT (Automated Ultrasonic Testing) and PI (Pipeline Inspection) requirements
• Coordinate with geotechnical and marine survey teams for route selection

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in subsea pipeline engineering
• Proficiency with DNV-OS-F101, API 5L, and ASME B31 series standards
• Experience with SACS, Caesar II, or similar pipeline stress analysis tools
• Knowledge of S-lay and J-lay installation methods and limitations
• Familiarity with buckle arrestor design and free span mitigation
• Understanding of pipeline inspection and integrity management
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
