Subsea Riser Engineer

About This Role

We are looking for a Subsea Riser Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur office. You will be responsible for the design and engineering of riser systems including Steel Catenary Risers (SCR), Tethered/Tubular Risers (TTR), and flexible risers for FPSO and floating production systems in deepwater environments.

As part of our subsea team, you will execute riser engineering from concept through detailed design, working closely with FPSO operators, installation contractors, and fabrication yards. This role offers exposure to various riser configurations across different water depths and field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design rigid riser systems including SCR and TTR configurations
• Perform flexible riser analysis and interface design
• Conduct riser fatigue analysis for wave, current, and vortex-induced loads
• Execute VIV (Vortex-Induced Vibration) analysis and mitigation
• Interface with OrcaFlex and similar riser analysis software
• Prepare riser specifications, design reports, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with FPSO hull and mooring system interfaces
• Support installation analysis and offshore commissioning activities

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in riser engineering for deepwater projects
• Proficiency with OrcaFlex, Riflex, or equivalent riser analysis software
• Experience with SCR, TTR, and flexible riser design methodologies
• Knowledge of DNV-OS-F201, API 2RD, and relevant codes
• Understanding of fatigue analysis and fatigue design criteria
• Familiarity with VIV analysis and suppression systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
