Blasting & Painting Inspector — Zhuhai Shipyard

Role Overview

Blasting & Painting Inspector position at Zhuhai shipyard (China) working with a Major Malaysian NOC on topside construction project. This is an 18-month contract role requiring NACE Level 2 / FROSIO III certification. The role involves surface preparation, coating application, dry film thickness, holiday testing. Chinese nationals only, 6-day x 10-hour work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on structural, piping, E&I, or mechanical systems as per inspection test plans
• Verify compliance with project specifications, codes and standards
• Prepare inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
• Coordinate with construction and QA/QC teams for inspection scheduling
• Review and approve weld procedures and welder qualifications
• Monitor and verify corrective actions for identified defects
• Maintain inspection records and documentation in compliance with project requirements
• Attend daily toolbox talks and promote safety awareness on site
